I got my new GoPro HD helmet cam over the weekend and got the chance to try it out paddling yesterday. It has a different mounting system where it sits up high above your head which makes you feel its weight more and definitely is more exposed if you flip (compared to my old Tachyon that mounts in the side). And since it is a normal camera inside a waterproof casing it gets more water drops on the lens and also some condensation on the inside. So why make the switch? High Definition, pure and simple. The video quality is outstanding. Here's a short clip of the paddling to prove my point. I'll just have to work with it a little more to overcome the shortcomings...

I love my gopro HD. I use it for all the videos on my blog. You can use Rain X on the front to help with water drops. And they sell two little anti fog inserts that go inside. I took it to the National Whitewater center and had a blast with it. Have fun, I know you will.
